Summers in the field on Hargett Street.

$900.00

From The Inner Child series, a vibrant representation of being an adult, processing your childhood, and realizing the weight of the things you experienced then, years later. Finally understanding. The golden moments, the trauma, the moments that fall somewhere in between. How different does it feel to finally be an adult? Is it what your younger self expected?

I put my hands directly in the paint, spreading it on my canvas. I remembered the feeling of my bare feet in warm grass in summer at my grandparents’ house, drawing on walls, cutting my hair off out of anger, not truly understanding what it meant to be older. I’m trying to go back to that little girl, so brave and daring. This series is all about pushing boundaries, not doing things the “right way”, making a mess. Being human.

This is an ode to the 1.5 lb preemie baby, the curiosity of the child, the audaciousness of the teenager who I once was, unaware of all the types of caring there would be in the world right now.

  • painting measures 24 x 36 inches (2 ft by 3 ft) on gallery wrapped canvas and is varnished for long lasting protection and brilliance.

IMPORTANT: Please email me to inquire BEFORE you purchase any canvas works larger than 12x12, especially if you’re local. I offer free pickup and delivery to the RDU area as well as Greensboro, NC on select days.

    • Will ship off its frame and rolled in a tube for cost-efficient shipping — you can read more about this process and shipping timeframes on my FAQ page. Collectors who want the fully assembled canvas are responsible for additional oversized shipping fees — quotes available upon request.

    • Payment plans are available — a minimum deposit of 20% is due upon purchasing. Afterward, equal installments can be paid on a mutually agreed upon schedule. Email me for more details. Shipping is available to the US and Canada only at this time.
